Embarrassing County Thrashed By Macc

That was Macclesfield Town. Not Barcelona. Yet County produced one of the most abject, heartless, passionless, inept performances in a long time to receive a 4-1 thrashing from our struggling neighbours.

James Wallace, on loan from Everton, curled County into a 25th-minute lead, but it only got worse from there with a complete lack of desire, fight, passion and commitment shown by the side.

Izak Reid levelled, before goals from Tyrone Barnett, a fabulous header into his own net by Paul Turnbull, and a 4th was added by Hamza Bencherif.

It was absolutely spineless and awful from Peter Ward and his side, and many County fans left Edgeley Park wondering when ‘Wardy’ would be handing in his resignation and joining Jim Gannon at Port Vale.

Embarrassing.

Thats it folks. We are down. Cinderford and the Forest of Dean make a great place to spend a weekend ed. Forest Green Rovers (a)…. looking forward to it already. ABSOLUTE HORROR STORY… and despite all that County fans turned up in numbers. WE are pretty good as fans. The rest of the team and the club are not worthy of us.

Not being funny but I’m pretty sure we could put a team made up of fans that would thrash the current cannon fodder!!! Scarfe burnt, shirts in the bin!!!!Good Bye.

That was one of the most heartless performances I have ever sat through, Macc are really bad but we made them look good, I came away feeling strangely ok I didn’t seem to be bothered at all a bit like our players I would imagine.
I cannot see a way back at the moment, I have said on numerous occasions that our midfield is horrendous at best and no team ever did anything without a stong motivated midfield (engine room) it is massively sad that this once great football club is in free fall to oblivion, I am Stockport through and through and I love to say I was born in Stockport but I will not just turn up to watch a passionless display as I did yesterday just because I am from Stockport.

The only thing I can hang onto is US. The fans. Take off the Macc support (600 ish) and there were getting on for 5,000 County fans turning up to watch possibly THE worst County side of all time on a cold February afternoon. Fantastic numbers all. On the downside I can see there is still further to fall. Next season will be a shock – many teams in the Conference would do quite well in League 2 – so once again the aim will be to stay in that League. A complete clear out beckons but once again we have the vultures circling. The Newton fell is rumoured to want Horsefield in as Gaffer so I can imagine Mathias who has only been in for 5 minutes is already looking over his shoulder

A complete shambles on the pitch and off. Still, I will NEVER shy away from any armchair red or newbee-bitter in telling them I am County. Born in Stockport pal. If you dont like it get out of MY town you spineless ****.

Pathetic. Hopeless. Abject. Could go on and on but come on Peter Ward be a man and resign immediately. He might be a County man through and through and work ever so hard BUT he simply isn’t good enough for the job. The board took a brave gamble when they sacked Simpson and put PW in charge but it has failed. Bye bye league football and bye bye County as we know it?
