Friday Night IS County Night

So this Friday night is the night, then. Getting down to the nitty-gritty of the situation, our frustration and any action needs to be directed at one Mr Kennedy.

And pressure is all it takes.

We applied pressure to the administrators when we thought they were taking the p*ss. They cracked, and agreed to waive away any fees.

We, along with Daily Mirror Sports Writer and big County fan Oliver Holt, applied pressure to Stockport Council and Dave Goddard when we thought they weren’t helping us at all, and hadn’t done so for many years. They cracked. Now we’ve got a substantial amount of money being given to the consortium by Mr Goddard and the Council, to help with the deal going through.

We have more power as fans than we realise. Our club, and particularly us as supporters, have made great strides in recent weeks of standing up for ourselves. Pure FM turned down the invitation to attend last night, for political and diplomatic reasons.

Ever since Pete Liggins (who did a sterling job trying to find any sort of info out for us) was taken off-air after an ALLEGED (of course..) complaint from within SCFC and then re-instated weeks later, they haven’t been the same. Sale Sharks interviews at half-time, more discussion and on-air conversation about City than us.

So again, as fans, it’s up to us to say ‘OK, you do what you please, but don’t expect us to listen to your station any more.’

Because that’s how much we can influence people.

Obviously, Mr Kennedy will prove a much tougher nut to crack than the administrators and the Council and a local radio station.

But believe me, he WILL crack. And only if we can apply the right pressure.

And that’s turning up on Edgeley this coming Friday at 6pm outside Somerfield, and marching on Edgeley Park as Sale host Leeds Carnegie. Banners, scarves, anything.

But remember…THIS IS A PROTEST AGAINST BRIAN KENNEDY. NOT SALE SHARKS FANS. THEY JUST SUPPORT THEIR TEAM AS WE DO, AND IF ANYTHING, WE CAN GET THEM ON BOARD IF WE BEHAVE CORRECTLY TOWARDS THEM.

Please remember that. The anti is being upped now, and Mr Kennedy is the bad guy. Our rent is being increased by £160k per annum with the deal he’s offering. Ridiculous.

So be there, and let’s do it right. Sale fans are not the enemy here.
