Jim Gannon has emerged as the bookmakers favourite to take over the reins at the vacant manager’s position at Hibernian.

The surprise front runner to replace Mixu Paatelainen in the hot seat at Hibernian has emerged today with top online bookmakers Victor Chandler slashing the odds on County manager Jim Gannon from 17/1 to 5/4, who was made redundant last month by the administrators of the club.

The news will undoubtedly come as a blow to County fans who, despite seeing Gannon and his assistant manager Peter Ward made redundant, were all hoping and maybe even thinking it was only a matter of time before Jimbo returned to the hot seat.

Jimmy Calderwood is second favourite to take the job, but Gannon remains the bookies choice and time will tell…
