Matty Mainwaring makes his return to action tonight after a lay-off of ten months with a broken leg, along with young defender Luca Havern.

County host Bolton in the Manchester Senior Cup, and Mainwaring has been named on the bench and is expected to play some part (possibly from half-time) in the tie.

Havern has been sidelined with heart problems but has finally fought his way back to full fitness and takes his place alongside Mainwaring on the Hatters bench.

There’s another chance for ex-Ipswich trialist Matt Brown to stake his claim for a place in the Hatters senior squad as he starts in defence, and schoolboy Ian Ormsson starts in goal.

Gary Ablett hands starting berths to four more trialists – left-back Michael Teiman (ex-Barnsley), Sekou Berthe – a full international for Mali, ex-Newcastle man Frank Danquah and Nigerian striker Joseph Afusi.
