Ex-City footballer Andy May is a contender for the vacant manager’s position at County, according to reports.

The Sun (about as reliable as Facebook for County rumours) reports that May supervised training yesterday and is now a serious contender for the job.

Who? Well, exactly.

Researching for something concerning Andy May, really all we’ve found is this excerpt from the ever-reliable Wikipedia:

Andrew Michael Peter ‘Andy’ May (born February 26, 1964 in Bury) was a former professional footballer, who played for Manchester City, Huddersfield Town, Bolton Wanderers, Bristol City, Millwall and Welling United.

May was also a youth team coach at Wigan Athletic a few years back, but was sacked. I can’t wait.

We understand that May did take the training session at County yesterday and today, and that prospective new owner Jim Melrose was also in attendance.

May went to school with my best mate in Middleton. He was tough. Another City import…. think we can do better than that. Andy May fills me with nothing at all…..
