Defender Gareth Owen has been recalled from his loan spell with League Two side Port Vale.

Owen has spent the last 3 months with loan spells at Yeovil and Port Vale, and after his falling out with manager Jim Gannon he was frozen out at County and his days looked to be numbered.

But with a whole host of rumours flying around, namely that Jimmy McNulty is off, manager Jim Gannon is off, we have a number of injuries, or that Owen is simply being recalled as we have received a cash offer from another club, it may turn out to be a reconciliation betweeen County and the former captain.

Port Vale manager Dean Glover said:

‘It is very frustrating to say the least. Gareth is just the type of player we need in order to improve the team.

‘He adds some much needed experience, but unfortunately there is very little we can do about it when a situation like this occurs, but it is so frustrating.’

Maje of this what you will, but most County fans at the the moment seem to think that every bit of news is linked with Jim Gannon leaving the club.

Apparently Gannon has been working with Jack Frost to get tonight’s game called off as well in an attempt to speak to Blackpool about the vacant job.
