Former Stockport County and England striker Derek Kevan has died.
He was most well known for his 157 league goals for West Brom, aswell as 8 goals in 14 games for England.
He made 40 appearances for Stockport County in his final season, 1967-68 which Stockport County won promotion – and he scored ten goals.
We would like to offer our condolences to his family.

Remember him well. We had a couple of great seasons then with some fantastic players. We were only talking about him on the way to Cambridge yesterday. In those those days top class players drifted down the leagues in their final years of football. Todays rich stars dont have to so its rare these days. Derek was a big bustling centre forward, what we wouldnt give for someone like him thesedays also Matt Woods and Eddie Stuart then perhaps we wouldnt of witnessed the defensive shambles of yesterday.
Just a few years before my time. Nice sentiments NE. Hope you managed to enjoy some part of your away-day yesterday.
Once again football takes a back seat, only vaguely in the back of my mind as I was shipping out of Stockport at that time, but as you say NE a few of them just now and we’d be out of this mess. Condolences to all his family at this sad time.
Ditto guys….R.I.P Derek Kevan
