Tony Evans has again taken to Twitter to update fans on the latest signings at Edgeley Park.

Evans tweeted today that former Wigan Athletic midfielder Jon Routledge, man of the match in our win over Accrington Stanley, has ‘agreed to join the club after turning down five bigger clubs.’

Routledge stood out as a classy midfielder on Saturday alongside impressive new boys Jon Nolan and Ryan Fraughan.

Evans, who is hoping to complete a deal this week to buy the club, also told fans that the club were still interested in Halifax forward Jamie Vardy, and that himself and manager Didi Hamann had spoken to ex Manchester United striker Febian Brandy before ruling out a move.

We are expecting the Routledge deal to be confirmed by Tuesday, pending a medical, so stay with us for that.

* We will be talking tomorrow to Clear Blue Skies editor and County fan Mark Smith, on everything from why he chose to bring back the popular fanzine to his hopes for the season ahead. Don’t miss it – much more eloquent that anything we say!

Some great signings coming in, and boys that should be a class above this league, lets hope the bubble does not burst.

    Ye come on County.

Routledge was always rated highly at Wigan but, as is surprisingly rare in modern young footballers, wanted more first team opportunities than we could offer him. I was surprised he opted to take his option to leave Hamilton so soon but perhaps he wanted to come closer to home.

He’ll do very well for you I’m sure and I shall keep a weather eye on the lad to see how he goes.
