Spencer Says Sorry to County Fans

“It’s alright blaming the last five years but this season it’s the board’s responsibility, the management’s and the players’ and we’ve failed the fans.”

“The only positive from this season is the fans; they have my heartfelt apologies for what`s happened this year”

So says Mr Spencer Fearn, vice-chairman of SCFC.’

Well, Spencer. I agree. And I suspect many County fans will agree too.

A huge chunk of the car-crash that was season 2012-13 was down to the board. Some decisions were made which were jaw-dropping in their stupidity, but, with this little apology, I for one, can give you a bit more time before calling for your head.

I think you know what has to be done though Spencer. Board members in with relevant experience and passion (and funding?) are good moves.

Is it not time to move a couple of people on though?

The M.E.N. article can be read here and there is another quote which needs highlighting.

“What’s happened this season is unacceptable; we’ve had three quality coaches in Jim Gannon, Darije Kalezic and Ian Bogie – and still couldn’t avoid relegation.”

Hold up a tic.

I think there is a strong body of opinion that says if Gannon had not been moved on we would not have been relegated. OK, things were not great, but it appeared playing staff costs were being continually being sliced into giving Jim Gannon a very difficult time.

So that was one board decision that put us on the road to Solihull Moors.

The subsequent SCFC appointment of Kalezic turned out to be bordering on comical and that together with loaning out half-decent players and replacing them with 1/10th decent players sealed our fate.

The late appointment of Ian Bogie, was a good one but the chap had no real chance.

Those decisions were ‘unacceptable’ and surely someone has to take the responsibility for them?

So Spencer, I appreciate the apology but there is more to be done on your part surely?

Hear Hear. Can we get the young loan players back for next season?

  • cropped says:

Will we be part-time or full-time even? And would the loanees want to come back? I think the ST prices are out today by the way.

“We’ve had three quality coaches in Jim Gannon, Darije Kalezic and Ian Bogie – and still couldn’t avoid relegation.” says Spencer Fearn. This is disingenuous nonsense. If each was quality, why sack him? Regarding County’s demise, the real story is Brian Kennedy. David Conn – will you do the big County financial story? Please?

Well said Kenjax and welcome aboard. David Conn, Oliver Holt as well, get the message out again.

80 grand a year rent for Edgeley Park.

At what point, if ever, does SMBC get involved?

They don’t they just want to look and sound like they’re interested let’s face it for whatever reason(s) we are not and never will be high on their priority list. More chance of getting backing from The Highland Council
