County striker ‘Pistol’ Peter Thompson appears to be a forgotten man at international level with his nation Northern Ireland.
Thompson, whose only struck three goals for the Hatters since his relatively big money move from Linfield last summer, has been overlooked yet again for the squad by manager Nigel Worthington.
This time, Worthington has opted for League Two Accrington Stanley striker Billy Kee, in what surely is a blow for Thompson’s international hopes.
Kee has represented NI at Under 21 level previously.

16 games without a goal in a run that went into last season – therein could lie your answer…
I have always wanted Pete to come good for us but I think Gary Ab has made up his mind Looks like the lack of real pace will cost him his place in the side and I would not be surprised to see Pete offloaded in January for whatever we can get. We have weaknesses in all areas of the team and the club in general Boxer. In fact we could be heading for another period of turmoil off the pitch I think.
