What is success for County next year?

To me success takes time at a football club and nothing can be changed overnight in order to make a club successful. This can be seen when Manchester City had the introduction of a multi million pound tycoon in the name of Thaksin Shinawatra in 2007, lots of money was invested into the side but success was not seen instantly, instead it took four years of buying many players and three different managers in order to finally win the Premier League.

Now as much as I hate using Manchester City as a prime example other cases such as Notts County can be used following a introduction of nearly a million pound into the wage budget the club started to bring in top class players int he names of Sol Campbell and Lee Hughes.

Therefore with County not having a multi million pound investment anywhere in sight it is down to Jim Gannon in order to make Stockport County successful, therefore I pose the question to you. How can success at County be measured in the 2012-2013 season?

My answer is short and sweet, in November 2011 when Jim came back to Stockport the club were near enough going to have to seek help from administrators for the second time in five years, but since the arrival of Jim the clubs financial state has been turned around. Many ‘social loafers’ have been moved on to other clubs with young talent being brought in from lower down the leagues to replace the missing parties. Therefore a successful 2012-2013 season to me would be for County to assemble a promotion pushing team with the play offs in sight, but my main concern is that the book are kept tight in order for County to have a successful future.

What are your thoughts?

Able to break even, top half of the league with a fighting young squad is good for me. Anything else positive is a bonus. Roll on next season!

Aye to that plus a few more bums on seats to ease our financial struggle. Plus SMBC getting a little more involved with the team that promotes their town

Spot on MA, middle to top half of the table will be a successful season, then we need to kick on. Anything better would be a huge bonus!
