Williams Wants County Contract

Robbie Williams has called on County chairman Alwin Thompson to ‘get his finger out!’ and sign the talented left-back on a full-time deal with Paul Simpson’s squad.

Williams is signed on a non-contract basis with The Hatters as the 2015 Group try and conjure up some money to sign the former Huddersfield set-piece specialist up on a one-year deal. Of course, the problem with the non-contract is that if the 25-year-old was to pick up a big injury, he would be without a club if County saw fit to let him go free of charge.

So the man-of-the-match from Saturday’s 0-0 draw at EP with Wycombe is calling on Thompson to find the money to seal a deal.

“I’ve signed a non-contract here which allows me to play games until Mr Thompson comes up with the right amount of money for me.”

“It is a big gamble for me but I just want to play football. If I was injured and out for six or seven months, County could let me go and it could make the chairman think ‘oh, I don’t fancy signing him now.'”

The Hatters faithful were very impressed with the defender on Saturday, and Williams is adamant that he’s not planning on a quick escape from EP.

“I want to get the deal sorted, which is why I’m speaking about it now. Hopefully I’ve done enough for the chairman to get his finger out and come up with the goods, so to speak. I just want to sign and play my football here. All I can keep doing now is putting the shirt on and trying my best to help the younger lads along.”

You heard the man Alwin, sign him up!

Come on Alwin make some money available for this signing, Robbie has done well since his arrival and we need a couple more players like him to ensure that we are playing in this league next season. Speculate to acumelate Alwin!!!! The fans will keep coming, this with some more signings will ensure that more fans will come through the turnstiles.

Its a tricky one. We were told (when Sean Connolly was with us) there was some cash available. Now SC has gone has any Irish investment disappeared as well? Vibes are coming out that there is no more money.

Do County go for debt, sign Williams in the hope we can get near to mid table and get gates above 4000 or do we potentially lose this player and flit with the bottom 6 and get gates of 3,500?

Glad I am not making the decision.
