Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in County defender Ashley Williams according to reports from the media.

Williams is a Wolves fan and any serious offer could be treated seriously with Jim Gannon`s policy of informing the player of the offer before coming to a decision over the offer.

Ash has been in top form this season and is many people`s player of the season. Playing in central defence and at right back he has been immense all season long.

He has kept strikers like Jamie Forrester quiet on both occasions that County have played Lincoln, aswell as other strikers like Andy Bishop and Julian Joachim.

Williams also got put himself in contention for the goal of the season award with a fantastic 40-yard strike at Rochdale away in October.

County gave Williams his chance when they picked him up from Hednesford Town, and since then he has been immense in a County shirt. County even turned down a £500,000 bid from Luton and another Championship club in January at the request of Williams, who wanted to stay at County. Everton have also been interested in him in the past, and a move to a Championship club could suit Williams should he want to move.

Interesting. How much would people accept for him baring in mind about 55% of that goes to other parties?!

55%!!!, well then, it’d have to be about a million for us to get a good amount

Doesn’t Elwood take a third of all transfer fees paying off that debt, and then 25% is going to Hednesford I believe???

Bloody hell. I had accepted Ash would be a foundation stone of next seasons side. Crossing my fingers really tightly that he stays with us for another couple of seasons at least.
