County draw at Cambridge

Image for County draw at Cambridge

Just over 2,000 fans at the Abbey Stadium (165 County stalwarts) watched County share the points despite playing the last half hour with 10 men. Piergianni received a second yellow and going off what I have heard it would seem a harsh decision.

I did not go and in fact did not make the 10 minute walk to my local to watch the lads on Premier Sports (or whatever it is called). Kids to baby-sit you see. Oh, and it was raining.

The bare facts were that the much maligned Chadwick put us ahead after just 3 minutes. Hope that goal leads to a hot-streak for the guy.

Cambridge were level after 12.

Danny Whitehead (on for the second half) put County 2-1 up and Cambridge equalised after 74 minutes against what was by then a 10 man County.

Given Cambridge’s very impressive home record I think the draw was a decent result. We just have to knock over Darlo at EP to get a bit of movement up that table before we face Wrexham away.

If any of the 165 brave souls are reading this and would like to flesh out this skimpy report please mail me at stockport@vitalfootball.co.uk.

In other news, off the pitch things remain as quite as ever. No news it seems is simply no news. I am sure our owners are beavering away each day and burning the midnight oil to take this club forward.

Is there such a thing as a sarcasm font I can use?

So disappointing not to get a win. Chadwick, yes, much maligned but purely because he has been terrible so far this season. Bounaub at the back is not good enough and Paton is not a winger. Nolan bottled a few tackles and if Matty Glennon wasn’t on fire this season we would be bottom of the table.

    Disappointed.
