From what I have seen the general reaction to Tom’s movement away from the club to Cambridge has been somewhat mixed. Some people say that he won’t be a big loss with others stating he has let the club down.

But this is something that might cheer some fans up! As Tom is under 24 and offered a new contract Stockport County FC are liable to recieve a compensation fee from Cambridge United for Tom’s services.

Tom spoke to the press yesterday and he seemed very casual about his move, stating he wanted to score 20 goals next season to Bridge Player, but then telling Cambridge BBC he wanted to join a club with ambition.

Here is what Tom had to say: ”I heard it’s a great club, an ambitious club. I just want to help it get back to where it used to be. It’s got a huge fanbase and I just want to be a part of it, I’d love to be on the pitch where they’re supporting you’

I feel the main reasons for Tom’s move down South could be money orintated but I also feel that the lack of support shown to Tom earlier in the season has been indicated about where the striker says ‘I’d love to be on the pitch where they’re supporting you’.

Although I am still unhappy with the idea of loosing Tom to a team that are smaller than The Hatters but I feel that Tom has shown the club a lack of disrespect through not staying for another year considering the club offered him nearly doubnle his intial wage with other financial incentives.

Anyhow thats football! Good luck Tom Elliott!

Downright greed by the sounds of it. Best to see the back of him and we might even get a few pennies to fund a decent striker coming in!

Any money we can get should help our cause. And yes they should pay for the player that was a nothing before Jim got hold of him.
