Friday Night Is County Night?!

Stockport County officials have come to a decision with Macclesfield Town officials to move the local derby a day forward, to a Friday night instead of the original Saturday as planned.

This is the first fixture to be moved following the release. The game will take place on the 21st March at 7:45pm instead of on the 22nd March.

A lot of people have critisced the move, but I can see why they would do it. We have an away game at Wycombe on the Monday and it gives Jim Gannon and his team extra time to prepare and travel for the game which is likely to be a clash between two teams at the top of the table.

when officials move games like this its always the fans who suffer

That date is Good Friday. It’s going to inconvenience some thanks to Sunday service public transport, but at least most won’t be working that day.

Purely selfish perspective but I love, absolutely love Friday night is County night. Its when I cut my teeth at County. Me and some my peers will be reliving times past.
Get back from work, get changed, straight out, chippy, Castle Street, game, market Square, drink, drink, Sams Bar, try to dance, late curry at the Kush in Heaton Moor. Aaaah the good old bad old days!

Will be doing the same sort of thing except swap Sams for the Pineapple and then Crown under the viaduct. Not such a late curry in the Kush as well. Win or lose, we’re on the booze!
