Linfield have re-signed County striker Peter Thompson on a three-year deal for the Northern Irish forward.

Thompson never really got going at Edgeley Park, and spent the second half of last season back on loan at his ‘spiritual home’ as they like to say.

And today, Thommo has signed a permanent deal at Windsor Park under manager David Jeffrey.

His time at EP was blighted by a serious lung puncture which kept him out of action for a few months.

‘Pistol Pete’ had one year left on his County deal, but no clue yet as to what sort of fee he would command.

Good luck to Peter..

Yes good luck Peter. In my mind he never was utilised properly in a 4-4-2 system, and in League Two he may have come good. I think monies owed for number of appearances and perhaps his wage were the tipping factors.

Anyone heard the rumour Fon Williams could be off … and for nowt?!!!
