Wrexham V County

Stockport County visit Wrexham tonight looking for a fourth straight win, and with renewed hope of their own away form after picking up a 3-0 win at Peterborough two weekends ago.

When Wrexham visited Edgeley Park earlier in the season, they were turned over 5-2 – and that was the turning point of County’s season that has made us so strong. Adam Le Fondre got four goals that day, but he won’t be playing tonight as he is on loan at Rochdale.

As early said, County come into the game on the back of three straight wins, whilst Wrexham have won just one in the last ten.

A win for County would send them up to 6th place, and manager Jim Gannon is targeting that 6th place with a win tonight.

‘We’ve got our eyes set on that sixth place now, but the lads don’t need motivating. They just motivate themselves and that’s fantastic.

‘The future is looking bright for these boys at the moment, and great credit to them.

‘They’re taking stuff off the training pitch into games, and I can’t really ask any more of them than that.’

Gannon should go in with the same team he has picked for the last three games, though Anthony Pilkington might miss out with fatigue, Pilkington has only been in the football league for a month and had been a certain starter in the last three games.

Michael Rose might not make it after he picked up a virus, whilst Michael Raynes, Keith Briggs and Michael Bowler are all long term injuries and will definitely miss out.

Tony Dinning and James Tunnicliffe could return to the bench.

Juan Ugarte (hamstring) and Neil Roberts (ankle), and midfielder Mark Jones (knee) all definitely miss out for Wrexham.

Striker Cherno Samba and midfielder Robert Garrett, who both recently came in on loan, could be handed starts for the Welsh side.

Mr Hall is tonight’s referee. He has officiated neither of tonights two teams yet this season, but has refereed 22 games, handing out 72 yellow cards and five red cards.

Tonight’s kick off is 7:45pm, and it is all live on Imagine FM, you will be able to read a match report on here sometime on Wednesday!

Come on County!

    Must-win game. COME ON COUNTY!!!!!!!!!!!
Allen has gone to Belgium and we’ve rejected a fairly big bid from a Championship club for. Ash Williams

Enjoy the game Jack. I will be tuned into Imagine FM. Disturbed about the Ash Williams bid. I suppose it is inevitable we are going to attract attention from high up the leagues. The word is out. County are going places and they have a great crop of young players. As long as we can cash in (and remember sell on clauses deat Turst worthies!) we can continue to build. Jimbo looks like he is an excellent judge of talent (Keepers aside lol)

No, Williams won’t leave. Gannon wants him to stay, and on the interview on County site, Williams wants to stay to help us win promotion. His words, not mine. And Damo looks to be in Jimbo’s future plans as well. It is only on loan that he has gone to Utrecht.

    What a win.
We didn’t deserve it but we won all the same

Sign of a good team to not deserve victory yet come away with all three points!
